Dreams

There's a (so familiar) story about a man who's been so successful in his life. He realized so many of his dreams. He knows exactly how to shape them so that he could achieve it. A great and meaningful career for himself, a nice house and comfortable life for his wife and children, and many others.
He's been traveling around the world. When he's back, he always tells his wife about the places he visited. Once time, he brought back a pack of lavender from Napa Valley, and he noticed his wife loved it so much that she kept it next to her pillow, smelling it every night. He then had a wish to bring his wife to Napa Valley, visit the lavender farm, have a cozy lunch at Calistoga, visit the wine castle near by for a wine tasting, get a dinner at Tra Vigne. As always, the dream is so detailed that he knows he could do it. The only thing stopping him from getting it done, is just because, the lavender season has always been the busiest business time of the year. "It's no bid deal", he thought, "we could do it next time".
Guess no further, my dear readers. This happens like any other sad and stupid love stories. By the time he's ready to go, on the day he purchased a pair of 1st class tickets and get home, his wife's no longer in the house. She left because .... (you fill it yourselves, the clue could either be she hates when he's to busy and has no time for her, she has another man, she got an accident, she's sick, whatever)
The saddest thing is not the story's ending, it's about the fact that such things happen all around us everyday. We put so much effort and time to pursue some dreams and forget that time costs us the most. We also forget that a dream is no longer a dream without the person we wants to dedicate that dream to.
--------------
Everyone has dreams or wishes, from a little child, wishing his parents' goodnight kisses would be with them their entire life, to a grownup man, dreaming of a happy life with his love, having beautiful babies, to an elder, wishing his children could achieve their dreams, and the dreams that the elder himself could not accomplish in his entire life.
Thus everyone spends their life trying to make their dreams come true.
Once in a while, they have a break, and suddenly realize a dream they have since long, is no longer a dream, they just don't feel the urge to achieve it anymore.
Once in a while, they fail, and learn that some dreams are just impossible for them, and they give up.
Once in a while, they got their dream, and feel empty, because the person to share the dream is no longer there
Then they grow, that's no big deal.
